Do you have any tips or suggestions for other PDs?
Philosophically, I think that exam preparation from a content
perspective should naturally occur across the student’s
time in the program. That said, the high-stakes nature of the

how do we let candidates know where they are in the certification
process, or if they need to take action?
There are 2 main ways we share information with candidates:
through email and via their BOC Central™ profile. We send a
confirmation email once documents have been processed, when
more information is required, and once a change in certification
status occurs. For example, we process transcripts and ECC
documents within 2-3 days of receipt; once the process is
complete, candidates receive an automated email.
Candidates should also know that within 2-4 weeks of the last day
of their exam window, they will receive an email that says exam
results have been posted in their BOC Central™ profile. Their
profile will be updated with one of the following statuses:
Eligible for Exam: This means the candidate was

Certified: All BOC certification requirements have been
met, and the individual has successfully become a Certified
Athletic Trainer. The new AT will receive an email with their
certification number and instructions on accessing their

for certification. Further detail about necessary documents is
available on the BOC website.
Regardless of whether your students are just beginning their path
to the ATC© credential or launching their career as a certified
professional, the BOC has their back the whole way.
