I have worked for Murray State University in the School of
Nursing and Health Professions for 5 years.

There are 4 students as of the last Bachelor of Science

Exam(s) to assist your students in preparing
for the exam? How?
Students take the self-assessment exam(s) at multiple
points during their senior seminar course. They must
achieve a certain percentage in order to successfully
complete the course.
5) How do you prepare your students for the
Students complete computer-based and practical
cumulative comprehensive exams each semester of the
program. Course exams are written using terminology
and tips provided in the BOC Exam Style Guide. Their
senior seminar course utilizes BOC Self-Assessment
Exams. Students are encouraged to attend either the
Student Southeast Athletic Trainers’ Association (SEATA)
exam prep workshop and/or an Area Cooperative
Educational Services (ACES) workshop to aid in their

I recommend my students have the BOC Practice
Analysis, 7th Edition, Athletic Training Exam Study Guide,
NATA Consensus Statements, NATA Official Statements,
NATA Position Statements, BOC continuing education
resources and other various course textbooks depending
on the course.

prepare your students for entering the real
world (e.g. completing the BOC paperwork
post-exam, state licensure/registration/
certification, NPI numbers).
In Senior Seminar, students compare and contrast
state licensure/registration/certification in our state
(Kentucky), their home state and 1-2 other states they are
interested in working in. Also in Senior Seminar, students
are required to construct a 3-month continuing education
(CE) schedule, including dates and locations for all CE
events, CEUs awarded and projected costs and expenses
